Credit Suisse continues UK regional build up with new office
Credit Suisse is to open a private banking office in Manchester as part of its UK regional expansion plans, the bank said in a statement.
The move comes after the recent opening of an office in Birmingham and the recruitment of a senior private banker from Coutts to help with its expansion in south-west England.
The Manchester office will target growth among clients in the northwest of the country, which includes the counties that make up Yorkshire.
Richard Algar, head of the UK regional team in Credit Suisse’s private banking unit, will serve as an interim head of the office; a team of five relationship managers - Richard Algar, Mark Widdup, Karan Sejpal, Peter Hindle and Amrajit Bansal - have been recruited from within Credit Suisse to grow the business.
The move follows the announcement yesterday that Barclays Wealth has opened an office in the southern UK town of Bournemouth where it plans to service high net worth clients across the South of England.
