UBS goes after wealthy French with new office

UBS has opened a wealth management office in the French city of Toulouse and plans to go after wealthy accounts in the South-west region of France.

The move is part of UBS’ efforts to grow its wealth management unit in regional France. Since 1999 when the bank opened a wealth management office in Paris, UBS has since opened in Lyon, Nantes, Lille, Bordeaux, Cannes, Marseilles, Strasbourg and Aix-en-Provence.

Altogether UBS employs around 425 staff in its wealth business throughout France.

Regional wealth in France is increasingly being targeted by wealth managers, with SG Private Banking recently announcing an extensive rollout of offices throughout the country.
