Banque Syz looks to enter Spanish private banking sector

Banque Syz, the Geneva-based asset and wealth manager, is looking for a partner to enter the Spanish private banking sector, according to a report in Expansion, a local newspaper.

The report cited Alfredo Piacentini, founder shareholder of Banque Syz, as saying the private banking sector in Spain has great potential to grow and his bank was well placed to gain business in the country.

Banque Syz currently has an institutional asset management and hedge fund business in Spain.

Brummel

Relocation, relocation, relocation

Banks have never been shy of firing staff at the merest whiff of a downturn. First the fat, then the muscle and finally the bone. In the past, cuts have been so deep that firms have found it hard to benefit when the markets rebounded, paying over the odds to restaff at speed. Such wild oscillations in staffing numbers are known as “doing a Merrill”.
