Coutts study shows rich prefer donating to universities
The Million Pound Donors Report from Coutts shows that the rich prefer university donations to any other good cause, underlining the prominence of education in public agenda, according to a report in the Financial Times.
Higher education received 45 donations of £1m (€1.2m) or more in 2006-2007, with the total value of million-pound-plus donations coming to £296.5m, three times more than health, the next most popular sector. International development came third with £81.3m, according to the inaugural report issued by the private bank.
