Mukesh Ambani replaces Mittal as richest Indian

Mukesh Ambani, with a net fortune of $20.8bn (€16.3bn), has overtaken Lakshmi Niwas Mittal as the richest Indian on the planet, Forbes’ annual rich list for the country has revealed, according to a report in Business Standard, a Delhi-based publication.

Mittal, who had held the top rank since 2004, is now second in the rankings with a net worth of $20.5bn, followed by Anil Ambani ($12.5bn), Sunil Mittal ($7.9bn) and property baron Kushal Pal Singh ($7.8bn).
