Christie's auctions Saint Laurent’s art collection for $264m

Christie's on Monday successfully auctioned $264m (€207m) of Impressionist and modern artworks collected by the late designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé, in Paris, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

The evening sale in Paris exceeded its presale high projection of $232m, a reassuring result signalling that the world's billionaires are ready to vie for blue-chip artworks that they view as a bargain.
