The best of German design

German precision engineering does not stop at cars. While Switzerland may be the home of horology, watch connoisseurs will know that over the border in Germany Glashütte Original has been producing strikingly beautiful watches for over 150 years.

To celebrate its legacy Glashütte has teamed up with Brummell and the Classic Car Club of London for an evening of exquisite German design - and you have the chance to win one of 25 pairs of tickets to attend the event on June 25.

The evening will start with quintessentially Germanic food and wine followed by presentations by Glashütte and the Classic Car Club. Each classic watch will be matched to an equally classic car. The mechanics and design of both will complement each other and guests will be able to discover the inner workings of the cars and watches in stunning detail.

Since 1845, the town of Glashütte has been the home of German timepieces. The various designs comprise everything one associates with classic European design; understated sophistication, an incredible attention to detail and an enduring design that stays true to its origin regardless of fashion’s fickle whims.

In order to win one of the 25 exclusive pairs of tickets, email promotions@efinancialnews.com with "Glashütte event" in the subject line.

Doing the Continental

Frank Sinatra had it about right: “It's very subtle, the Continental, because it does what you want it to do.” I had spent the morning driving down relatively busy A roads behind a Ferrari 599 but was perfectly happy that I had got the better of the deal. It’s no hardship being cocooned in the plush cockpit of a Bentley Continental GT Speed listening to John Humphrys detailing the latest travails of our benighted government.
