HSBC launches private bank in Ireland

The very strong growth in personal and business fortunes prompted the move

HSBC Private Bank has opened in Ireland in response to the very strong growth in wealth in the country.

The move was announced by HSBC's chief executive Michael Geoghegan on a visit to the bank's Irish headquarters.

"HSBC's push into private banking reflects the phenomenal increase in personal and business wealth that Ireland has experienced over the past few years," he said.

Mayfair goes Modern

Sebastian + Barquet, a three-year old design gallery based in New York and Chelsea, is opening a new gallery showing museum quality pieces in Mayfair next month, the first in London to focus on international modernism from the 1940s to the 1960s.
