Credit Suisse hires for UK regional expansion

Credit Suisse, Switzerland's second largest bank, has hired two bankers as relationship managers in Wales and East Anglia, as the bank continues to expand its regional presence.

Iain MacLaverty joins from Towry Law where he managed a team of 12. He starts as relationship manger responsible for Merseyside and North Wales and will report to Simon Racle, head of North England regional private banking services, and will be based at the firm's Manchester office.

Rob Sledmere joins from JP Morgan's private bank where he was a senior analyst and junior banker, supporting a banker who managed nearly 50 ultra-high net worth clients. He starts at Credit Suisse as relationship manager for East Anglia, and will report to David Bowen, head of the Southern regional business.

Separately, Credit Suisse is beefing up its onshore wealth efforts in the US with the acquisition of a team of three from US rival Lehman Brothers, for the private banking operations in Boston.

Credit Suisse Private Banking USA tapped Bill Grinnell, a former senior vice president and relationship manager at Lehman Brothers. He brings with him Darin Souza, an associate, and Philip Mura, a sales assistant, according to online daily website Private Asset Management.
