Credit Suisse names new head of private banking research for Asia-Pacific

Fan Cheuk Wan joined the Swiss bank as head of Asia-Pacific equity research for private banking in October 2006

Credit Suisse has declared the appointment of Fan Cheuk Wan as head of private banking research Asia-Pacific, according to a report in Business Times Singapore.

In her new role, Fan will be responsible for driving research across all asset classes in the Asia-Pacific, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. She joined Credit Suisse as head of Asia-Pacific equity research for private banking in October 2006.

Previously, she had 10 years' experience as head of China Research for ABN Amro, at Cazenove, BNP Peregrine and Standard Chartered Securities, as well as seven years in journalism, including a stint as political editor at the Hong Kong Economic Journal.

Mayfair goes Modern

Sebastian + Barquet, a three-year old design gallery based in New York and Chelsea, is opening a new gallery showing museum quality pieces in Mayfair next month, the first in London to focus on international modernism from the 1940s to the 1960s. US billionaire loses $13.5bn fortune in stock market carnage

Kirk Kerkorian, the legendary US billionaire, has emerged as one of the worst-hit investors from the current convulsions in the stock market, with his paper fortune plunging from a high of $16.6bn (€12.3bn) to just $3.1bn, according to a report in New York Post.
