BofA Merrill hires for French office

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has recruited three financial advisers for its French wealth management business.

Arthur De Mortemart and Jerome Sack also joined the wealth management France team over the past few months.

De Mortemart joined as a vice president and specialises in advising ultra high net worth families. He joined from Banque Robeco, in Paris.

Sack was a director of equity capital markets at Merrill Lynch for 16 years in London and Paris. In his new role he works with chief executives of listed companies.

All three are based in Paris and report to Gilles Dard, head of continental Europe, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

Brummel

Relocation, relocation, relocation

Banks have never been shy of firing staff at the merest whiff of a downturn. First the fat, then the muscle and finally the bone. In the past, cuts have been so deep that firms have found it hard to benefit when the markets rebounded, paying over the odds to restaff at speed. Such wild oscillations in staffing numbers are known as “doing a Merrill”.
