Fidelity appoints chief operating officer for asset management arm

Fidelity Investments has appointed Jacques Perold, who has led an institutional investment firm spun off from the mutual-fund behemoth, as chief operating officer of asset management, a newly created role, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

Perold will also join Fidelity's executive committee, and will report to Michael Wilens, chief of asset management.
