Credit Suisse unveils new co-heads of derivatives sales
Credit Suisse has named two new co-heads of its securities structured derivatives sales team covering central Europe, the latest senior appointments the Swiss investment bank has made to its European fixed-income sales division in a fortnight.
In an internal memo seen by Financial News/Wealth Bulletin, Credit Suisse said it had named Christian Porath and Harald Epple as co-heads of securities structured derivatives sales covering central European clients, reporting to both Savady Yem and Martin Korbmacher.
Yem runs the SSDS division for Europe and the Middle East regions while Korbacher is the head of Credit Suisse’s securities and investment banking operations in Germany.
The new appointments come two weeks after Credit Suisse said it had named Garrett Curran, former head of global finance at Dresdner Kleinwort in London, as managing director and co-head of European securities sales. Curran joined on Monday this week.
He reports directly to Gael de Boissard and Simon Yates, co-heads of the securities division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Tony Ehinger, co-head of global securities and head of securities sales. Curran is based in London.
Porath, who formerly headed Credit Suisse’s European strategic equity derivatives business, will expand Credit Suisse’s coverage of the banking sector in countries including Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Epple, who joined on Monday from Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for coverage of the insurance sector in Europe, will focus on developing Credit Suisse’s coverage of insurers, pension funds and associated asset management companies.
Epple, who was also a member of Morgan Stanley’s German management board, will work in partnership with Porath to develop the bank’s “holistic client approach and integrated One Bank offering in collaboration with the other business areas.”
