Philbin quits F&C as head of funds of funds

Richard Philbin is leaving F&C as head of funds of funds to join a newly-formed multi-manager company, according to a report in the Financial Times.

Dean Cheeseman has been named Philbin’s replacement.

Becky Holmes, media relations manager for Axa, which bought Winterthur Wealth Management about 18 months ago, said: "We do not have a job title for him yet, but he will be joining the new standalone investment company that is going to be launching and he will be based in London.

"We do not have a name for the new company yet. It is backed by the Axa Group. It has a chief executive, Mike Kellard, and Ian Colquhoun is the managing director. It will have a multi-manager offering and will be launched by the end of the summer. This is all I can say at the moment."
