Barclays Wealth bolsters private client team with Lehman quartet

Barclays Wealth has hired Lehman Brother's European private-client team, shortly after announcing the UK bank would aquire Lehman's private investment management business in the US.

The team of four is led by Christoph Ladanyi and Martin Davison, co-managing directors. They will report to Michael Demirel, managing director and head of commercial operations, international private banking.

The bank said Ladanyi was the driver of Lehman Brothers’ European private investment management effort, and was in charge of some of the US bank's largest private client relationships.

Before joining the investment management division he was co-head of investment banking in Germany and Austria and head of the European technology banking group.

Davison has over 20 years experience in the financial markets and before Lehman was a senior vice president on the institutional sales desk at Oppenheimer, before the European arm of the private bank was bought by Lehman Brothers in 1999.

The bank would not disclose details of the two other team members.
