Barclays Wealth rehires in Edinburgh after defections

Barclays Wealth has expanded its private banking office in Edinburgh with the appointment of two senior private bankers.

Chris Cowan joins from Adam Bank, where he spent 17 years, latterly in the role of senior banker managing a team of nine.

Duncan Hunter has transferred to the Edinburgh office from Barclays Wealth headquarters in London.

The additions are the latest in a string of hires for the bank in Edinburgh, which include James Osborne and Cherie Hamoudi, who joined the investment management team in August from Turcan Connell, and the appointment of four new financial planners in July.

The hires go some way to fill the gap left with the departure of 22 private client specialists from Barclays Wealth to Williams de Broe in Edinburgh earlier this year.
