UK hedge fund eyes €3bn African agriculture fund

Emergent Asset Management, the UK hedge fund, is planning to raise up to €3bn ($4.4bn) for a private equity-style fund that will invest in African agriculture, according to a report in The Sunday Times, London.

The Africa Land Fund has already secured a commitment of nearly €2bn from a US pension fund, and is courting several investors.
