Beckwith teams up with Parkes for European property venture

Sir John Beckwith, the veteran real-estate baron, has joined forces with Gerald Parkes, the former head of Lehman Brothers' European property private equity team, to scout for investment bargains in the European commercial real-estate sector, according to a report in the Financial Times.

The team is considering options to capitalise on distressed market conditions, including courting bankers about a potential fundraising via a public offering. Oriel Securities is likely to be named an adviser.
