Boutique wealth manager hires fixed income specialist

London and Monaco-based asset manager Ambix Capital, formerly owned by collapsed investment bank Lehman Brothers, has hired a fixed income specialist to develop the group's bond business.

Marco Sticchi joins from Whitebream, a London-based asset manager, to head up the new business.

Ambix Capital was bought out from Lehman Brothers's administrator last year by its main fund manager, Pier-Alberto Furno, who owns 100% of the business. It has approximately $370m in client assets under management and services high net worth individuals and family offices.

Relocation, relocation, relocation

Banks have never been shy of firing staff at the merest whiff of a downturn. First the fat, then the muscle and finally the bone. In the past, cuts have been so deep that firms have found it hard to benefit when the markets rebounded, paying over the odds to restaff at speed. Such wild oscillations in staffing numbers are known as “doing a Merrill”.
