Leading hedge fund research analyst quits UBS

Alexander Ineichen, the global chief of research at the alternative and quantitative investments platform of UBS Global Asset Management, has left the Swiss bank after more than an eight-year stint, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

The platform included hedge fund manager UBS O'Connor and fund-of-hedge-funds managers Alternative Fund Advisory and Alternative Investment Solutions.

Viewed as one of the most renowned and influential commentators in the hedge fund sector, Ineichen didn't manage money at UBS, but produced several reports on the condition of the industry.
